Details: The Coalition is very happy to announce that our previously scheduled Legislative Analysis and Market Dynamics Breakfast Forum, which was cancelled due to snow in February, has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, April 2, at CGI Federal’s Innovation center in Arlington, Virginia.   

Ray Bjorklund, President, BirchGrove Consulting LLC, will provide attendees with an overview of market dynamics, including topline estimates of contractor-addressable spend for remainder of 2019, the effect of perennial fiscal dynamics on performance of our acquisition system, and some predictions about 2020 and where we are in the overall process. 

Jon Etherton, President, Etherton and Associates, Inc., will provide participants with an acquisition-focused legislative update regarding our newly elected Congress, as well as what a Democratic House may mean for your company’s bottom line. 

Alex Rouse, Program Director, Professional Services Program at the General Services Administration (GSA), will provide a briefing on GSA’s efforts to consolidate Special Item Number (SIN) language.

Details: The Coalition would like to invite our healthcare members to a reception on April 3rd at the VA National Acquisition Center (NAC) Industry Day! The networking reception will be at the Crown Plaza hotel (Rosemont) on Wednesday April 3rd after the educational sessions. 
We will kick off the event with remarks from Coalition President, Roger Waldron, and Greg Madden of Orlaithe Consulting. Roger and Greg will share their thoughts on the highlights and opportunities presented during day 1 of the NAC Industry Days.

Details: The Coalition will be hosting our annual Spring Healthcare Forum on Wednesday, April 10 at McDermott Will & Emery LLP’s Washington, D.C. office.  

This is a must attend event for DHA and VA contractors and will provide the opportunity to dialogue with the VA further about its supply chain strategy for the MSPV program, pharmaceuticals, and the future of VA acquisition. 

The morning will kick off with a networking breakfast and remarks from former Congressman Jeff Miller, Senior Legislative Advisor for McDermott Will & Emery, who will provide an outlook on the legislative agenda of the new Congress. Following this discussion, Karen Brazell, Principal Executive Director for the Office of Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction and Chief Acquisition Officer for the VA, will provide opening Keynote Remarks, followed by two superb Panel discussions that will focus on the latest acquisition strategies and contracting programs that support our nation’s warfighters and veterans. 

The first Panel, titled, The State of VA Procurement, will feature speakers Rick Lemmon, Executive Deputy Chief Procurement Officer, VHA; Angela Billups, Executive Director Office of Acquisition and Logistics, VA; Tom Leney, Associate Executive Director, Strategic Acquisition Center, VA; and Ruby Harvey, Executive Director for the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, VA.

Details: Due to the overwhelming popularity of our e-Commerce Forum last April, the Coalition is very excited to announce its return this year! During the Forum, which will take place on Tuesday, April 23, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with leading government, industry, and legal experts on GSA’s Phase II Report and its implications for the Federal market.
