Today it finally feels like the weather has caught up with the calendar. It actually feels like fall here in the Nation’s Capital. Fall brings many things. Like the baseball playoff where all is right in the world with the Red Sox hammering the Yankees. Like the Alabama Crimson Tide rolling….and the New England Patriots recovering from another slow start. All we need now is for the NBA kickoff next week for my beloved Boston Celtics!
But enough about my sports obsessions. Let’s turn to one of my other, current obsessions, bringing our members the latest developments and training on the federal procurement market. We’re just under a month (time flies!!) away from the Coalition’s 2018 Fall Healthcare Forum, Excellence in Partnership Celebration, and Fall Training Conference on November 7th and 8th at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Virginia. Things are shaping up nicely! Here is the latest.
- GSA Administrator, Emily Murphy, is confirmed as a Keynote Speaker at the Coalition’s Excellence in Partnership Awards Celebration on November 7th. The Coalition is gratified that Administrator Murphy will be joining us for a celebration of what is best in procurement – government and industry working together for the American people. Only a week left to submit EIP nominations!
- The Coalition is excited to announce that Karen Brazell, Chief Acquisition Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Guy Kiyokawa, Deputy Director of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) are confirmed Keynote speakers at the Fall Healthcare Forum. The current agenda can be found here.
- Take a look at the Fall Training Conference agenda! Great speakers, topics, and opportunities for dialogue between government and industry. A number of key speakers already have confirmed, and we look forward to a great conversation throughout the day, ending with our networking reception. You still have time to register for all three events and save via our bundled pricing.
Finally, thanks to the procurement community’s generous support, tomorrow, during the Government Contracts Advisory Council to the George Washington University Law School, I will be presenting the official check for $15,000 the Coalition’s Fellowship/Scholarship. As many of you know, the Scholarship provides financial support to deserving veterans who concentrate their studies in Federal procurement law or who are seeking a Masters of Science in federal government contracting. To date, we have raised over $125,000 for the scholarship. Thank you for all your generous support! We look forward to seeing you in November.
