Yesterday, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) hosted a virtual business opportunity session focused on Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor (MSPV) 2.0 which provided industry suppliers with an update on the acquisition strategy for the next iteration of the MSPV program.  During the virtual meeting, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) shared their plans to establish BPAs with manufacturers and suppliers of medical and surgical products based on the Federal Supply Schedule or the open market. They explained that orders will not take place under the BPAs and that instead, the BPAs will be used to set pricing for products on the MSPV 2.0 Catalogue. The prime vendors will then provide distribution and supply services to VA facilities through commercial agreements with “VA authorized suppliers” (i.e., BPA holders).  For more details about the VA’s MSPV 2.0 supplier strategyview the slides from the meeting here.  The Coalition sincerely appreciates the VA’s open dialogue with its industry partners about how to best deliver medical/surgical products to our nation’s veterans and we look forward to continuing the dialogue on the MSPV 2.0 program in the coming months.
