The Healthcare Forum provides a wonderful opportunity for members to engage in a Myth-Busters dialogue with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on key procurement strategies, initiatives and opportunities. The March 10th forum will address DHA and VA programs covering pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment.
Attendees will be hearing from the VA’s Strategic Acquisition Center regarding its current acquisition initiatives including the Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor Program. Attendees will also hear a DHA Pharma update from DHA’s Pharmacy Operations Division. In addition, the Keynote Speaker will be Gregory Giddens, Principal Executive Director, Office of Acquisition, Logistics and Construction at the Department of Veterans Affairs. DHA will also be represented by Michael O’Bar, Component Acquisition Executive, who will discuss DHA Procurement: Strategic Goals through Operational Initiatives.
The morning will kick off with registration and a networking breakfast followed by a 2016 Legislative Outlook by James P. “Jim” Moran, former Congressman for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District and now a Senior Legislative Advisor with McDermott Will & Emery.
