Thank you to all the Coalition members for your strong support in 2017! In a year of continuing change, the transition to a new Administration provided an opportunity for a renewed focus on government-wide procurement policy, commercial item contracting, and interagency contracting. During this time, the Coalition has engaged with stakeholders across the procurement community regarding key programs, initiatives, and potential reforms. The Coalition sincerely appreciates your continued dedication, leadership, and contributions in support of our collective efforts to promote common sense, commercial best practices across the government.
After the holidays in January, the Coalition will focus on providing input to GSA and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the e-Commerce pilot described in Section 846 of the FY2018 NDAA signed into law on Tuesday, December 12. GSA and OMB were tasked in the NDAA with planning a pilot within 90 days of the signing. The Coalition is forming a Section 846 e-Commerce Working Group to provide input to GSA on the pilot, beginning with written comments for the public meeting on January 9 at GSA headquarters. Members interested in participating in the Working Group, please contact Andrew Sisti at ASisti@thecgp.org. We are appreciative of the opportunity to provide input to the Government on this pilot, which has the potential to be the most consequential procurement policy change in a generation.
In 2018, the Coalition will continue to focus on continuing to identify opportunities that bring industry and government together to work on transforming the procurement system. We look forward to a wide-ranging, robust dialogue, on the e-Commerce pilot, and many other topics in 2018.
