Thank You for a Wonderful Day Honoring Joe Caggiano

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and dodged the rain drops on the golf course with us at Wednesday’s 8th Annual Joseph P. Caggiano Memorial Golf Tournament. Despite a few on-again, off-again showers during the first couple hours of play, the day concluded with sunny skies as we enjoyed the reception and took in the beautiful views of Whiskey Creek Golf Course from the outdoor patio. It truly was wonderful to see so many of you in person again for the first time in nearly a year and a half, and what a great cause to bring everyone back together!

It was especially heartwarming to see Joe Caggiano’s family in attendance, including his father, Paul; brother, Michael; and his wife, Kathleen; along with three of their five kids, Katie, Josie, and Cori. They had the opportunity to witness the good work that our community is doing in their father’s name, this year, presenting a check in the amount of $8,000 for the Coalition’s endowment for qualified veterans pursuing the JD/LLM/MSL degree at The George Washington University Law School. Thanks to all of you for joining us and honoring Joe’s memory in this very special way.

In addition to our players and sponsors who helped make this donation possible, we especially thank our Title SponsorThe Gormley Group; our Lunch SponsorCenter for Procurement Advocacy (“CPA”); our Reception SponsorRaytheon Technologies; and our Beverage Cart SponsorsCACI and ManTech!  A big thank you goes to our many hole sponsors, as well, including, 3M; Allen Federal Business Partners; Bosma Enterprises; BRG; CGI; Chess Consulting; Cresa; Etherton & Associates; Four Points Technology; GDIT; The George Washington University; The Gibbs Family; Grainger; Harvey Ernest – RIVERGROUP; Mayer Brown; Orlaithe Consulting; PenFed; Miller & Chevalier; The Rendely Family; and the Sisti Family.

Regarding the scoreboard (not that we’re competitive), our defending champions from 2019 struck again!  Team CACI, fielded by golfers Howard Porter, Jon Gilberg, Stephen Cockrill, and John Cockrill, took first place with an impressive score of 12 under par.  One stroke back, at 11 under par, was a team consisting of Randy Rossello from Interior Resource Group, Andy McLain from McLain Group, Inc., Rich Koski from Contract Connections, Inc., and Rocky Vulpetti from Grand Rapids Chair Company.  Proudly taking third place with a score of 8 under was team ADS, consisting of Ryan Sturgill, Levi Wilson, Dave Bellis, and Brendan Stickles.  Congratulations to this year’s winners and everyone who participated, we already are looking forward to seeing you again at next year’s tournament!
