One of the Coalition’s most cherished annual events is just around the corner. The Joseph P. Caggiano Memorial Golf Tournament returns to Whiskey Creek Golf Club on August 20, only three weeks away! This special day brings together the contracting community in celebration of camaraderie, connection, and a shared commitment to honoring veterans in memory of our friend and colleague, Joe Caggiano.
As we gear up for this year’s tournament, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to our 2025 tournament sponsors. Their generosity not only makes this event possible, but also furthers our ability to make a lasting impact in the veteran community. This partnership has helped to expand the reach of the event, amplifying its message and inspiring others to join. Thanks to our sponsors’ support, this year’s tournament continues its proud tradition of raising funds for two important causes that provide life-changing support in both the education and healthcare of those who have served.
Once again, proceeds from the tournament will benefit Paws for Purple Hearts (PPH), an organization that pairs service dogs with veterans facing mobility challenges and trauma-related conditions. Through its innovative programs, PPH has supported more than 20,000 veterans and wounded service members across the country. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and members, we have already raised $24,000 toward our $35,000 goal, which is the full cost of one fully trained service dog. As we approach this year’s event, we are aiming not just to exceed this goal, but to take the first steps toward funding a second dog. Every contribution helps us move closer to changing a veteran’s life for the better.
In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go toward The Coalition for Common Sense in Government Procurement Endowed Scholarship Fund at The George Washington University Law School. This scholarship supports a qualified veteran pursuing a concentration in U.S. government procurement law, helping them take the next step in their professional journey. The Coalition is honored to have supported multiple qualified veterans through the scholarship program, and thanks to the generosity of our members and sponsors, we have raised over $140,000 for this fund.
