Due to the ongoing government shutdown, The Coalition for Common Sense in Government Procurement (Coalition) will reschedule this year’s Cyberside Chat™ from December to February, dates to be announced. We look forward to hosting this important discussion once full government participation can be ensured. The Cyberside Chat™ remains one of the Coalition’s flagship cybersecurity events, offering timely insights into the policies, programs, and challenges shaping today’s rapidly evolving cyber landscape.
As we prepare for the new date, here is a preview of the key sessions and topics planned for the February event.
Cyberside Chat Panel
This panel will examine the latest developments in federal cybersecurity programs, including the rollout of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), efforts to strengthen the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and broader initiatives to secure the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and government networks.
The Black, White, and Grey of Cybersecurity Compliance
This session will break down the most pressing compliance challenges and the practical considerations contractors should keep in mind when navigating federal cybersecurity standards. Panelists will offer insights into risk management, regulatory interpretation, and strategies for aligning internal processes with government policies.
Cloud and the Commercial IT Supply Chain
With the rapid expansion of cloud adoption and the commercialization of critical technologies, this new panel will examine the risks and opportunities emerging across the information technology (IT) supply chain. Discussion will focus on secure cloud use, vendor oversight, data management, and key considerations that arise when commercial capabilities intersect with federal cybersecurity requirements.
We look forward to sharing more details on the updated agenda, new date, and registration information soon. Stay tuned for additional announcements as we finalize plans for this year’s Cyberside Chat™!
Upcoming Events
The Coalition has a full calendar of events ahead, beginning with several timely webinars in November. This week, we hosted a webinar on the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO). The session provided members with a clear update on the status of the RFO, what to expect in the months ahead, and which proposed changes may have the greatest impact on government contractors. We sincerely thank Covington’s Kayleigh Scalzo and Victoria Skiera for sharing their insights during this important discussion. The recording is available on the Member Portal.
On November 10, we will host the 2026 Public Law Pricing Update, followed by a November 13 discussion on key changes to FAR Part 19 under the RFO. Later in the month, on November 20, our BIOSECURE 2025 webinar will provide an overview of the updated legislation and what contractors need to know as it advances.
On December 10, we look forward to gathering in person for the Coalition’s End-of-Year Holiday Party at the Tower Club in Tysons Corner. This complimentary event features food, beverages, and an opportunity to celebrate the year with colleagues. Thank you to our sponsor, SAIC!
The new year begins with the rescheduled Small Business Summit on January 13 with sessions led by government and industry experts, offering practical insights into small business policy and best practices for building strong business relationships, along with valuable networking opportunities. Stay tuned for more details!
Finally, the rescheduled Fall Training Conference: The Revolutionary Federal Market, will take place on January 14–15, 2026, at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, VA. This two-day event will cover governmentwide and healthcare acquisition trends, along with key procurement issues shaping the 2026 federal market.
We look forward to a great lineup of events!
