See You at Whiskey Creek on August 23rd

Five years ago, the Coalition for Government Procurement lost much more than a Board Member when our dear friend Joseph P. Caggiano passed away at the young age of 48. Joe’s career in the government marketplace spanned 25 years, including serving seven years as COO of the Washington Management Group/FedSources, eight years of service in the Navy, and he most recently served as a principal at Reznick Government, a business advisory firm now known as CohnReznick Government. While in the Navy, Joe completed tours of duty onboard the USS Independence (CV62), at Navy Personnel Command, and as an instructor at Villanova University, where he himself earned an MBA and a B.S. in mechanical engineering and was an NROTC scholarship student.

We are so honored to be hosting the 5th Annual Joseph P. Caggiano Memorial Golf Tournament on August 23rd at Whiskey Creek Golf Club! As you may recall from previous years, proceeds from the tournament will support the Coalition’s endowment for a qualified veteran concentrating their studies in the field of US Government procurement and pursuing the JD/LLM degree or the interdisciplinary Masters degree at The George Washington University. Joe would be very proud to know that, through the generosity and kindness of the Federal procurement community, the Coalition will fulfill our $100,000 fundraising goal for the scholarship fund with this year’s tournament proceeds! As anyone that knew Joe can attest, he was the consummate coach and cheerleader and would be delighted that we are encouraging and supporting the professional development of the next generation of skilled professionals in Federal procurement.

Please help us honor Joe’s legacy by participating in and/or sponsoring this wonderful tournament, which takes place at the beautiful Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, MD.  The tournament style is a four-player scramble with a maximum of 144 golfers (we were maxed out last year, so please register as soon as possible!).  Thank you to Cohn Reznick Government and Integrity Consulting/Mazars for being this year’s Co-Title Sponsors, in addition to all the other companies who have already committed to being a sponsor!  There are still several ways for you to support this tournament, including:

  • Making a personal donation to our scholarship fund
  • Donating a giveaway item for the player swag bags (i.e. golf balls, tees, cozies, etc.)
  • Veranda Club (for you non-golfers who want to hang out at the clubhouse): $150
  • Single Golfer: $210
  • Hole Sponsor: $500
  • Foursome: $800
  • Hole Sponsor + Foursome: $1,200
  • Beverage Cart Sponsor: $2,500
