Thank You to This Week’s Training Participants!

This week, the Coalition for Government Procurement held two important training courses for our members – MAS Basic Training: The Nuts & Bolts and GSA and VA Schedule Contracting Training for In-House Counsel.  I want to personally say “thank you” to all our members who participated, the instructors who spent countless hours preparing and teaching the material, and to Miller & Chevalier Chartered for hosting us in your beautiful Washington, DC office space.  We will send out a survey to all participants early next week, but the immediate feedback from in-person attendees after each course was overwhelmingly positive!

For our MAS Basic Training: The Nuts & Bolts, a one-day training workshop that taught the basics of the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) program, I specifically want to thank the following:

  • Alex Barbee-Garrett and Liam O’Reilly of Crowell & Moring for their presentation on The GSA Schedules Program: An Entry Point to Government Contracting
  • Sonia Pesantes and Sean Nulty of The Gormley Group for their presentation on Obtaining Your GSA Schedule or Schedule Modification, along with Option Extensions
  • Leo Alvarez and Shannon Ridge of Baker Tilly for their presentation on What to Expect When You’re Expecting…A GSA Schedule Audit!
  • Rob Burton of Crowell & Moring for his presentation on Staying Out of Trouble – Compliance and Ethics for Government Contractors
  • Bill Gormley and Andrew Sisti of The Gormley Group for their presentation on Schedule e-Tools: Tips on Competing and Winning Through the GSA Schedule Program
  • Ken Dodds of the Coalition for Government Procurement for his presentation on Small Business and the Multiple Award Schedule

For our GSA and VA Schedule Contracting Training for In-House Counsel, an intensive one-day training workshop designed for lawyers and contract managers with significant contract management and compliance responsibilities with the GSA and/or VA Schedule, I specifically want to thank the following:

  • Jason Workmaster of Miller & Chevalier Chartered for his presentations on Sustainability Requirements, Cybersecurity, and Bid Protests
  • Lorraine Campos of Crowell & Moring LLP for her presentations on Pricing (including Transactional Data Reporting/Commercial Sales Practices), Audits Enforcement, False Claims Act Mandatory Disclosure, and Ethics
  • Addie Cliffe of Crowell & Moring LLP for her presentations on Domestic Preferences and Supply Chain Security

Good news!  If you missed out on this week’s training, we are returning both courses to our regular rotation of annual events and we would love to see you next time.  In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming 2024 Spring Training Conference – What is Fair and Reasonable, Part 2:  Let’s Continue the Dialogue! on May 8-9, if not before!
